It takes a very special type of horse or pony to join the EquiSucceed NZ team. Our horses are carefully selected and trained to ensure they have the right temperament, training, plus that special ability to instinctively adjust themselves for each individual rider's level of ability and needs. The safety and welfare of everyone involved, whether possessing two or four legs is paramount.

Weka (aka "The Mighty Weka)
Weka is one of Equisucceed NZ's most valuable assets - he has been part of the team for several years, and has helped countless people develop a wonderful relationship with horses. He has a placid, welcoming, calm nature, and loves his job. In his previous life Weka was (believe it or not!) a show hunter, and a dressage star! Since his retirement from competition life, he has been with the Equisucceed programme and is a much loved team member. Weka is aged around 21 years old.
